Perks of Griffin Hall

Griffin Hall offers countless ways to get involved, make friends, and enjoy student life. Whether you're into sports, arts, or simply looking for a place to relax between classes, Griffin Hall provides a welcoming space where everyone can find something they enjoy.

Events

We hold multiple social events, both big and small, allowing members to mingle and vibe with friends and make new ones throughout the year. Our big ball events, Commencement and Valedictory are a great chance to get dressed up and celebrate the start and end of the year with your Griffin friends. If big events aren鈥檛 really your speed, we also run multiple small-scale events throughout the year. Whether it be study sessions, knitting/crochet or board games, Griffin Hall has heaps of events to get involved in.

Sports

Griffin Hall competes with the other residential halls at ANU in interhall sports competitions each year. These competitions offer members a competitive yet social environment to play against other halls on campus. Whether you鈥檝e been playing for years or just want to try something new, Griffin Hall sports has something for you.

The interhall sports competitions include 16 sports over the course of the year. These range from term long sports to weekend carnivals, racquet sports to ball sports. Griffin Hall promotes a culture of participation, encouraging all members to come along to trainings and play matches.

Arts

Whether it be performing on the stage, screen or the battlefield of debate, Griffin Hall has the events for you. Griffin Hall competes with the other residential halls at ANU in interhall arts competitions each year. Interhall arts competitions focus on harnessing students' creative abilities, allowing for friendly rivalry, competition, and the chance to meet and engage with other students from the residential halls and colleges.

Griffin Hall promotes a culture of participation. We encourage all members, new and old, to take part in all arts events. Or come along and cheer on our amazing Griffin teams at events.

Wellbeing and academic support

Our Non Residential Mentors are later year students trained to empower our members by fostering a resilient and adaptable community. The Non Residential Mentors have specialist training for mental health support and run wellbeing events for the community. Student leaders are also supported by ANU staff members (Non-Residential Hall Coordinator). Not only do they assist students transitioning into the university experience, but they also support members with any wellbeing care requirements that may arise.

Academic support is also offered to Griffin Hall's members through our Academic Scholars. The Academic Scholars offer a range of services and events to support your academic journey, from study sessions to academic skill info nights to networking events.
