Swapping or dropping a course
Most variations to your enrolment can be made using ISIS. Students seeking advice on how to add a course should refer to the Enrolment page for further advice.
Drop a course
Please note: dropping a course may carry academic or financial penalties depending on the time of the Semester it is dropped. Please review the University Calendar to ensure you are abiding by the relevant deadlines.
As a domestic student
You can login to ISIS at any time and choose to drop a course by selecting the following pathway:
NavBar (compass icon) > Menu > ISIS > Enrolment > Enrolment > select the Semester or Session > select 'Drop' beside the relevant course
As an international student
Due to student visa requirements, you must complete a Reduced Study Load Application (through Manage My Degree eForms in ISIS) if you intend to drop below 24 units within the first or second half of the year (Summer, Autumn and Semester 1 or Winter, Spring and Semester 2 respectively). More information can be found on reducing your study load as an international student on our website.
Alternatively, if you intend to remain enrolled in 24 units after dropping a course you may complete an Application for Enrolment Change (found under the subheading 'Resources') and submit it directly to your academic College.
Swap a course
If you wish to swap a course you can do so through your ISIS account prior to the relevant census date/s through the following pathway:
NavBar (compass icon) > Menu > ISIS > Enrolment > Enrolment > select the Semester or Session > select 'Swap' beside the relevant course
If you are unable to swap a course through ISIS you must complete an Application for Enrolment Change (found under the subheading 'Resources') and submit it directly to your academic College.
Deadlines
Courses can be added or swapped via your ISIS account up to the Monday of the second week of each semester. Check the webpage for non-standard session enrolment deadlines (Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring).
Additions after this deadline may be permitted. You can apply to add or swap a course after the relevant deadlines by obtaining permission from the Delegated Authority, and submitting an Application for Enrolment Change (under the subheading 'Resources') to your Academic College.
No courses can be added after the relevant semester, or course census date. Courses cannot be dropped after the commencement of the relevant semester examination period.
