Message from the COO: Renew ANU Update
This week, our primary focus is on finalising and communicating the outcomes of the Voluntary Separation Scheme (VSS). We received 325 applications, 79 per cent of which were from professional staff and 21 per cent from academic staff.
While the University remains committed to progressing the next phase of Renew ANU, the NTEU has recently submitted a dispute in relation to our Renew ANU 2025 Change Principles: Consultation Paper. The University continues to engage in discussions with the NTEU and remains committed to progressing these matters as quickly and constructively as possible.
We鈥檙e grateful for all the engagement and feedback we received on the consultation paper from staff, over 140 pieces of feedback overall. Later this week, we will share a summary of the feedback received, and respond to an open letter signed by a number of staff, which we hope clarifies the points raised by those staff about the financial position of the University, and the purpose of the Change Principles: Consultation Paper.
We also acknowledge staff requests for more details on how the Change Principles would be applied to the development of any specific proposals for change (e.g. changes to organisational units). We anticipate providing further information on those matters in response to the feedback, in the forthcoming implementation plan, which we aim to release next week, pending ongoing discussions with the NTEU regarding its dispute.
Renew ANU is a shared journey. By listening, engaging, and collaborating, we can shape a future that reflects our collective strengths. I appreciate your continued engagement and encourage you to stay involved in these important conversations.
