Flying high
Our Offshore Network and our education partners are critical to the University’s strategy to recruit the best and brightest international students, from around the region and the world.
When students ask our education partner representatives about ANU, we expect them to know the University from every angle.
That's why when a group of them visited the campus, we sent them up in a hot airballoon.
Earlier this month, we were excited to welcome nine Offshore representativesfromIndia, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Middle-East (Dubai-based). We also had 27 education partner representatives visit our campus.
"Our Offshore Network and our education partners are critical to the University's strategy to recruit the best and brightest international students, from around the region and the world," says Deputy Vice-Chancellor (International and Corporate) Professor Sally Wheeler.
Over a course of a week, our visitors saw first-hand why ANU is one of the world's leadinguniversities. They had information sessions with every academic college and ANU Careers, took accommodation tours and met withsome of ourcurrent students and alumni.
Off-campus, our visitors went to some of Canberra's iconic attractions, namely the National Museum of Australia, Old Parliament House,Mount Stromlo Observatory, Floriade, and even a hot air balloon!
Overall, it was a great Team ANU event with participation from across the University.
"We've thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to showcase our campus to our key education partners this week," says Sally.
"Throughout the week, our partners have seen the best of ANU: the passion of our academics, our world-class facilities and our wonderful students and staff."
Dhanya Bhatia, a Senior Recruitment Adviser for ANU in India and Sri Lanka, remarked how thankful she was to her Canberra-based colleaguesfor giving her team the opportunity to visit, live and experience ANU and Canberra.
"It has been an exhilarating experience to see the world class facilities that ANU has to offer for aspiring international students wanting to study in one of the top ranked universities in the world. Our interaction with academics and with colleges gave us better understanding of their passion for excellence and teaching," says Dhanya.
We are excited to host our Offshore Network again in 2023.
