- Today's Telstra outage: All Telstra ANU mobiles and emergency poles are being affected. Emergency calls to 000 can still be made. You can contact ANU Security on 6125 2249 via ANU landlines and non-Telstra mobiles. Lift phones may also be affected.

Book your free flu vaccination today

We are ensuring that are available for ANU staff this year, as part of our commitment to their health and wellbeing during the upcoming influenza season.
Your free flu vaccination can be accessed through:

- ANU Medical Centre (by appointment – available from 2 April)
- University Pharmacy (walk-in – available now)
- Off campus by accessing to be used at a Terry White Chemist in Canberra and interstate
|
To access your free flu vaccine at ANU Medical Centre, staff must:
|
- bring ANU staff ID (otherwise you’ll have to pay)
- have valid Medicare or Overseas Student Health Cover
- for staff on Overseas Visitor Health Cover, you will need to pay upfront but can claim back 100 per cent of costs from your insurer
- appointments are required – no walk-ins
|
To access your free flu vaccine off campus at a Terry White Chemist, you will need a voucher code which will be available in HORUS from April 2024 and available to use until the 31 July 2024.

is celebrated across Australia from Monday 18 March to Sunday 24 March and coincides with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. This is an important week to celebrate inclusion, respect and creating a sense of belonging, as we recognise the culturally and linguistically diverse workforce we have at ANU. You can show your support this week by wearing orange, building awareness through available courses and by reflecting on how we create a welcoming, inclusive environment at ANU.

Together they will explore necessary reforms in governance and what these developments mean for the leaders of tomorrow.

Professional Learning and Executive Education

Thursday 28 March, 3-4pm
Learn what’s involved in developing, offering, and delivering a professional learning or executive education short course at Australian National University. In this online information session ANU Enterprise will provide an overview of how to build short courses and other educational experiences, and what support ANU provides in the process.

2024 ANU Susan Ryan Oration

This year, the Oration will be delivered by , Executive Director of the Office Women (OFW) at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
The Susan Ryan Oration stands as the University's flagship International Women's Day celebration, dedicated to honouring the late Susan Ryan. Through this Oration, we aim to foster critical dialogues on gender equity and discrimination, issues that Susan championed throughout her extensive career, and which continue to be pressing national debates today.

As part of the , Follow-Me printing will be rolled out on existing Multi-Function Printer Devices across the Acton campus. You will soon be able to print and scan from any of these printers by simply swiping your ANU ID card, mobile phone or entering a PIN. A pilot of this service will begin in June 2024.

Carers' Career Development Assistance Fund | Round One
|
The University recognises that many staff have caring responsibilities that may impact their access to career development. The Carers' Career Development Assistance Fund (CCDAF) is for individual academic and professional staff with caring responsibilities who require support to participate in significant national or international conferences, workshops or symposia that contribute to their careers. Grants of up to $2,000 are available for reasonable costs relating to care of dependents where existing care arrangements are not available.

Calling for 2024 Vice-Chancellor Award for Reconciliation nominations
|
The Vice Chancellor Award for Reconciliation aims to encourage and recognise ANU staff members for initiatives and activities that support the pursuit of reconciliation, within the University or beyond. Recipients are recognised at the annual Reconciliation Lecture, held in June each year.
Last year's recipients, Dr Oliva Evans and Dr Junwen Chen, demonstrated leadership in developing the course 'PSYC2012 Culture and Psychology' which has had a significant impact on over 250 undergraduate students each year, addressing the colonial roots of psychology and promoting cross-cultural understanding. Their dedication and contributions to reconciliation initiatives and decolonizing the discipline are truly commendable.

The ANU Medical Centre has recently returned as an ANU-managed centre following four years of outsourcing to a third party. We’d like to hear from staff to better understand what’s important to you and ways we can improve our services. You input will contribute to a report that will be presented to the University.
