In collaboration with the School of Literature, Languages, and Linguistics, the ANU School of Culture, History & Language (CHL) presents "Underground coloniale," a captivating, free exhibition. This event is a highlight of the school’s annual flagship multicultural festival and showcase program, Immersia.

Drawing inspiration from the works of students, "Underground coloniale" explores the intricate ties between French colonialism and Indigenous cultures in the Francophone Pacific. Through the lens of artists, writers, intellectuals from French Polynesia, New Caledonia, Vanuatu, and Wallis & Futuna, this exhibit embarks on a journey toward a decolonized future, offering insights into the past and present as these communities navigate their postcolonial destinies.

The exhibition will formally open at 4pm on 16 September 2024 and will be open for viewing daily from 8:30am to 2:30pm until 23 September.
