Time travel with ASD - this year's 24-hr is open to all Australian students with curious and creative minds.
Test your problem-solving skills by solving challenges and puzzles created by staff from the . Just like careers at ASD, the topics are varied and include:
- Cryptography
- Languages
- Programming
- Open Source Intelligence
- Computer Security
- Puzzles
- And more!
New to CTFs? No problem! No previous skills are required, you can pick them up along the way.
This competition is a great way to learn about the work and interests of ASD and win great prizes, too! You can play online- all you need is an internet connection.
To play, you must register your team (up to 6 people) via the using an email address ending with 'edu.au'.

In-person events
Students who are Australian citizens and 18+ years of age are invited to join us to play in-person at a host location below. Registration is required to attend one or both days of the in-person event using the links for each location below:

**Unfortunately due to low numbers, the in-person events in Brisbane and Perth have been cancelled. We apologise for any inconvenience.
In-person activities in Canberra and Melbourne will run from 11:30am Thursday until 2:30pm Friday (AEST).
Proof of citizenship (e.g. current passport) will be required on arrival.
Important: You must register for the competition separately on the CTF website (see the 'Register' button on this page) in addition to registering your attendance at these in-person events.
